“We stayed in the cabin to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. The location was very secluded and pretty. The cabin had plenty of room to house 10 adults. A couple of the beds were pretty uncomfortable but the others seemed like they were a better quality. It was ok for a couple nights but I wouldn’t want to sleep on them an entire week. I felt like it could’ve been cleaned a bit better. There was some hair left in the showers and sink and a huge spiderweb in the corner of the living room. Not……

“Beautiful view overlooking the Ohio River from the deck. Unit was well stocked and clean. There are some things needing attention such as a towel bar which was apparently pulled off the bathroom wall and burn holes in the curtains. The floors squeaked badly throughout the unit and there was not enough insulation to buffer noise from the ladies in the lower rental. Although it was a second floor unit. I counted 31 steps from the ground to the deck to enter the unit. We used this route to carry……

Fortunately, I came across the flat on front street and it just so happened to be available, accepting of our dog, and in a perfect location. The entire process was seamless. The apartment was spacious, welcoming, tidy, and close to many unique businesses all within walking distance. The check in and check out processes were thoroughly explained. “My husband and I are OU alumni. We came to Athens to visit my brother-in-law in his senior year. I always loved spending time at Strouds when I was in school and it was so fun to stay at this oasis right off the hiking trails. Wish we would’ve had more time to explore the outdoors, but we were mostly on campus, which was an easy and beautiful drive! We will definitely be back to this home next time we visit.
