We stayed at the hotel from 31st July to 8th August.
We were lucky to be able to check in early whuch was about 11am. After dropping our stuff off, we went out for the day and when we came back our room smelt awful like sewage or something similar. The receptionist sent the cleaner who arrived with powder to put down the drain in the shower. She said the powder was dangerous so we needed to open the window. After she left, the smell seemed to improve. The next day, we left the hotel early and when we came back to the room, the smell was there again. That night we moved rooms which was an inconvenience as we'd already unpacked everything. However, at least we didn't need to stay where that smell was. Out of interest, I started looking at reviews and I found a review from someone who stayed a couple of weeks before us that also had an issue with a smell in their room and they also mentioned a lamp that was broken. Our room that smelt also had a lamp that was broken so I mentioned it to reception and the guy said that it was a pure coincidence. So I'm just making other people aware that our room was 511. So if you have the same issue in that room then you know that the hotel was aware of this. Either way, if it wasn't a coincidence that means two room smell and have a broken lamp which I don't think is acceptable for a 4 star hotel which is quite expensive. There are some positives but I don't have enough characters left. I thought it was important to make people aware of this.
