The environmental hygiene is poor, and the living room is covered in dust, clearly not cleaned
The most outrageous thing is that the staff knocked on the door at 8:30 in the morning and said they wanted to clean the room, even though we were still sleeping

First room had mold growing on ceiling shower and very pungent smell. I was moved to a smaller room that ultimately had mold growing all over the vent. These are unsanitary conditions.

We checked in around 7:00 pm, not terribly late. We were told the only room left fitting our King Bed Standard reservation was a first floor room #123. Anything else was a $100+ up-charge.
I wish I could post pictures here. The room had a view of the garbage dumpsters and walls about 10’ from the window. Nothing else could be seen.
The room had no closet. Well, that’s not exactly true. The closet had 18” of vertical space from the pole to the bottom. There was a box built around an HVAC (I assume) duct that took up the “closet.” It was actually comical.
The distance from the end of the bed to the wall was too narrow to allow a piece of rolling luggage (carry-on size no less) to roll through.
The hallway leading to the room narrowed down to half width for the final six feet before leading to the room door. This was because a linen depository chute was there. Thus the entrance to the room was via a 2’ wide hallway with a specially sized small room door.
So this was our standard King Room.
It was terrible. I went back to the front desk with pictures that I told them I was going to post.
They moved us upstairs to a normal room on the 10th floor. So much for no other rooms available.
I am a Hilton Honors member and have used the brand often. I’ll think twice in the future.

Room was on the smaller side but clean. A little wear and tear in the bathroom. Location was great although the neighborhood was a little downmarket but felt perfectly safe. Staff super helpful.
