The Riu Plaza London Victoria Hotel is above average but definitely not a Four Star Hotel. We stayed two nights for just under $900, and now they have a special for the identical room for $135, including a buffet breakfast, so we didn't see the value. We understand surge pricing but this was extreme. It is a GREAT hotel for $135 a night on their website today, but NOT impressive at $435 a night!! The hotel was updated, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the buffet was fine, and the staff was excellent, too. The one thing that felt like a two-star hotel was the vinyl tile in the hallways AND throughout the room, which was a head shaker for any hotel trying to be three or four-stars. The location to the tube (Victoria Station) was a quick walk and super convenient. I gave our stay a generous "four-star" rating, pricing aside, but it's not a "Four Star Hotel" when you consider luxury, amenities, wow factor, and appeal. It's a clean, decent, well-operated basic hotel.
