After booking a hotel affiliated with a Premier League football club, our expectations were naturally high. Unfortunately, the sense of disappointment began at check-in when we were given only one room key card. While a minor issue, it wasn’t the best first impression.
The room itself felt dated and gloomy, with limited natural light, I can only imagine how much worse it would feel on a cloudy day. There were several cosmetic and functional shortcomings. The lack of plug sockets and USB ports, especially near the bed, was particularly inconvenient.
A concerning safety issue was a light switch awkwardly located behind a pillow on the headboard. The bathroom added to our frustration with a poorly fitted toilet seat, cracked tiles, a loose shower fitting, and a damaged hose, all contributing to the overall impression of a neglected and dismal space.
Breakfast was acceptable, but the dining area felt cramped, poorly organised, and chaotic. Hot food frequently ran low and wasn’t replenished efficiently, leaving guests having to ask for basics that should have been readily available.
