We've just retuned from an incredible nights stay at The Cumberland Hotel celebrating my Dad's 60th birthday and seeing Steve Wonder at BST Hyde Park. I booked an executive twin room which was fantastic and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The best part was the complimentary prosecco and chocolates left in our room along with a gorgeous birthday card, this was completely unexpected - thank you to Abhi on the WOW team for this wonderful surprise. The Cumberland is a stunning hotel, we enjoyed a lovely meal in the SOUND Cafe and breakfast the following morning was great too, a brilliant selection of food and while it was super busy, service was excellent. I can't wait to stay here again, the staff made our stay fantastic and the backstage lounge was a huge perk.

Hotel was modern with a very central location. Super close to Hype Park, Marble Arch, shopping, and nice local restaurants in Marleybone. Lots of the amenities in the for of music, nice bar, coffee bar, convenience/snack store. Lobby must have been remodeled recently as were the rooms. My rooms nice, decent size, and, overlooked the Marble Arch. I was there my wife but the hotel would also work for families. Lastly, the subway stop was right in front of the hotel. Would recommend.

My 2 daughters stayed here for Sabrina Carpenter in Hyde Park. They loved the design of the property with all the references to music. They were given a room upgrade at check-in, which was much appreciated. Their room was very comfortable with a large, very comfortable bed. Unfortunately, their shower leaked all over the bathroom floor both days and the extractor fan didn't work. Both mornings they were awoken by housekeeping at 8.30am, which is ridiculous - especially considering the information given said housekeeping was from 9am - 5pm. It was very poor form on the 2nd morning, which was the day of checkout, as checkout isn't until 11am. The person then proceeded to ask them how long they would be, which is not great at all. In any other hotel we've ever stayed at, housekeeping has never appeared until after checkout time on the day of departure. Otherwise, they had a very pleasant stay which was perfect location for the concert.

We’ve stayed at the Cumberland for years now and the latest experience was one of disappointment I’m afraid. We were woken up at 3am by an alarm going off in the room, which required the attention of the night staff to check for poisonous gas. We were told to keep the window open and try and go back to sleep through the alarm. It went off eventually some 30 minutes later. Then it went back off again at 8.30am for another half an hour, and then again at 10am. We were moved rooms to a suite upstairs but that involved packing up, and then unpacking again at 12am when we got back to the hotel. Our third bed wasn’t available in the new room, so we had to wait in the bar whilst that was arranged. Finally to bed around 1am. The bar also really needs to stop adding “Service Charges” to their bills automatically too. I don’t appreciate being charged an extra £2 for the barman to pull a pint out of a pump, and especially after waiting 5 minutes for an acknowledgement. Absolutely shambolic stay this time around, after what has been 4 or 5 good years. Quality seems to be slipping away unfortunately.

This has ben the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Beware, I do not not recommend staying here. During the hotel has ignored our safety issues and complaints. And now after our stay, the hotel continues to ignore our calls and emails. Some of the issues we had: 1. Room Cleanliness: Upon arrival, our room had visible garbage left behind. 2. Misleading Upgrade Offer: We were contacted prior to our stay with an option to upgrade, which we accepted. However, at check-in, we were denied the upgrade with no clear explanation from staff — who seemed unaware or unwilling to clarify. 3. Extremely Poor Staff Communication: The front desk team was consistently unhelpful and at times outright rude. We had to check in twice due to miscommunication, and multiple requests (including follow-ups on serious safety issues) were either ignored or delayed without resolution. 4. Repeated Carbon Monoxide Alarm Incidents: For three consecutive nights, the carbon monoxide alarm in our room went off between 2–4am. Despite reporting it to the front desk each night, staff arrived 20+ minutes later and only suggested we "open a window." On the final night, the alarm rang for over an hour at 4am before we were finally moved — just hours before our scheduled checkout at 11am. This situation was distressing, disruptive, and incredibly unsafe.

Hotel itself was 'average' in most respects. Rooms are nothing and special and beculause of its size it always felt noisy, busy and uncomfortable. Worst element was the Sound Cafe where staff seemed genuinely unhappy to serve you. 10 minutes to take order for drinks and when they did not arrive after a further 10 minutes we left.

Excellent location - would stay again purely for this reason. The hotel was generally good. Really nice decor in the lobby and efficient check in for a very busy day. The service at the bar was quite slow and chaotic - wouldn’t bother getting a drink there with other options very close by. Our deluxe double room was fine but not great - I wouldn’t like to see a non deluxe room. The bed was very comfy and it was quiet at night. There was no hand soap left in the container and the shower gel had been watered down and was also nearly empty - poor for the standard of hotel. Overall the very central location redeems the other points.

Overall, a great experience. For several days there was a bad odor in the lobby, which smelled like a sewage issue or something. It was not noticeable in our 2nd floor room, but it made it impossible to enjoy the lobby area and live music. The hotel didn’t want to acknowledge the problem when I asked them about it.

Check in staff were great and went above and beyond to get our room ready for early access to let us get in before heading off to a concert at 1pm. Hugo in the sports bar was also brilliant, despite being super busy with bar customers and table orders. Great stay.
