Poor Condition of Room at Lower Ground Level

The window grille of the room at lower ground level was damaged that others could easily enter the room, through the window if opened, from the street since there was a stair in front of the window directly connected to the street level. Thus, we had to close the window for the whole night and no fresh air was supplied to our room. In addition, the condition of the bathroom was very bad that the drain of the shower cubicle was blocked (though it was finally fixed by the technician subsequently) and the ventilation of the that bathroom was very bad that the bad smell from the work of clearing the blocked drain remained in the room as we could not open the window due to the above-mentioned security reason.

Basic hotel. Within walking distance to Victoria Station in a nice neighborhood. The property felt a bit run down. There were some issues with the lights flickering in our (basement) room. The beds we’re comfortable. Fine for an overnight stay.

Perfect location

The Portico hotel was lovely, nicely presented. Room was perfect for what we needed somewhere to sleep. Comfy with everything you need. Nice having tea and coffee facilities in room and although we didnt use it was nice to see a safe to use if you were staying for a longer time. Reception was very welcoming and polite when we arrived and also when we came back from an evening out. Hotel was nicely decorated and in a super location. Took ys only 15/20 mins to walk to Buckingham Palace and 2/3 mins walk to Victoria Station. Lots of restaurants and bars within a 5 min walk, nice atmophere in the evening times in the area. Would stay here again and would recomend.

This room had all we wanted for our family of four in summer in London; 3 beds and aircon. Thankfully the family room is only one floor up. The hotel is a lot further away from Victoria Station than what I had expected. And 5-10min. walk to restaurants and pubs, but because of this the area is super quiet.

Convenient to local transport. Well decorated

The decor was very cute. The hotel is very close to Victoria Station, providing many transportation options, even to the airport. The staff was very friendly. The room was a bit small, but that was expected coming from America. The only comment is that they needed to dust behind the TV; otherwise, the room was well-kept and clean.

Lovely decor and very clean. I booked a single room which was small but had everything you needed for a short stay. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was modern and well fitted. The only downside was that it was on the 4th floor with no lift which could be challenging if you had heavy luggage

Rigtig godt ophold og rengøring.

Rigtigt godt ophold generelt. Morgenmaden var simpel og uden English breakfast. Rengøring dagligt og rigtig fint niveau på renheden på værelser og toilet. Eneste kritik punkt var, at brandalarmen vlev aktiveret 2 gange over vores 3 dages ophold uden at der blev givet anvisninger om at det var falsk alarm!
