Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a pleasant young man. Although our room was not ready, we appreciated the offer to store our bags in the meantime.
Once we were finally assigned our room, we encountered several issues. Multiple electrical fuses had burned out, leaving half of the outlets unusable. With three people in the room, this made it difficult to charge our devices. Additionally, the safety deposit box was not functioning, which meant we had to carry our cash and passports with us throughout our entire stay. While maintenance eventually addressed the issue, only half the outlets were restored. Are rooms not fully checked before guests arrive? Is there no quality control?
The buffet breakfast, while offering a decent variety, was poorly organized. The coffee machines were not working, milk was not replenished, mugs were constantly in short supply, and it took a long time to restock empty food trays. Though there was a good selection of juices, they were placed on a windowsill where direct sunlight left them warm and unpalatable.
One unexpected detail was that the hotel is situated above a petrol station. While not problematic, it was unusual and notably absent from any descriptions. However, the convenience store there did come in handy for grabbing snacks and drinks.
On a positive note, the room was clean, and the hotel’s location was excellent, right by Hyde Park. The hop-on, hop-off bus stop located at the corner of the hotel was a particularly convenient good
