This is a lovely hotel in a great location, but it’s needing a lot of investment to bring it up to par.
The rooms are dated and dirty, and the white goods and furniture badly need replacing, such as the heavily corroded dishwasher, limescale in the kitchen sink, and rusting towel rails. The carpets are torn and dirty. The area under our beds were filthy with dust and debris. Our apartment was meant to be accessible for my disabled mum, however, there were issues - including no easy to access light switch in her bedroom, no way of getting her wheelchair through her room to the bathroom, no handle outside the shower to help get in and out.
If you want clean towels and room refreshed, you have to request that 24 hours in advance, and it’s not guaranteed as I experienced on several occasions. There are washing machines on site, but on one occasion, we discovered that our newly washed clothes were covered in sand as it seems the previous user had left sand in there, which wasn’t visible to us putting our clothes in. When we raised this issue with the front desk, they told us it was our fault for not noticing the sand in the first place and couldn’t take responsibility for their washing machines.
The breakfast buffet is good, although I’m curious as to why the fresh fruit changes from fresh melon during the week, to tinned fruit at the weekend?
The location is amazing with easy access to the shops and restaurants of El Segundo and Manhattan Beach.
