Palihotel Hollywood is a cosy boutique hotel located in the heart of Hollywood. The exterior of the hotel doesn’t look like much, but once you’re inside you can’t help but appreciate the cute art deco interior. The reception staff were very friendly.
The not so good parts:
1. The rooms have ZERO soundproofing. We stayed on the lower floor, and the whole time we could hear footsteps from the people staying upstairs. The walls are also very thin, and we could literally hear everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that the couple next door were doing. This hotel is NOT suitable for families and kids.
2. The housekeeping service left a lot to be desired. Despite leaving generous tips for housekeeping, the towels were not changed, the bins were not emptied, and the coffee pods were not restocked. A note to international travellers: housekeeping services are requested via SMS, so make sure your eSIM comes with a US phone number.
3. There is constantly loud music playing from the pool area, which continues late into the night. This can be quite disruptive when you’re trying to rest.
4. It took us a good half hour to figure out how to use the TV. They need to make it clear that the TV channels are under “HDMI2” and not “TV”.
While the hotel is undeniably gorgeous, for me the negatives far outweigh the positives. By the end of our stay, I couldn’t wait to leave. I normally hate leaving negative reviews, but these things are deal breakers to me and I feel like people should be warned.
