“It was a short walk from the parking area to the unit. The wood panels and wood floor were interesting aspects of the accommodation. The unit was spacious with separate kitchen, downstairs table/eating area and adjacent lounge room. It was cold during the visit so although there was a great view of the nearby river from the outside table/eating area, we did not venture there at mealtime. “Lovely large room with ensuite. We arrived around 4.30pm which was right on closing time. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Convenient for an overnight stay. Dining options are limited in the area. Our stay included breakfast but the menu is limited. I read you can order a meal from the dining options but you need to give a few hours notice and it’s left in the fridge in the dining room. ”

“There were a couple of maitenance issues which we had to work around. The kitchenette is quite basic for the cost of a stay. No stove or oven. Location is good, however you have to carry everything up quite a few steep stairs.”

“We told the host we would arrive after 6pm in Nov and she was there greeting us as soon as we arrived. We liked the kitchen which got all the cooking wares but not sure if there is cooking oil or seasonings. The electric stove was slow to turn on. The host has provided the eggs, milk, tea bags, coffee and juice as well as bread in two sandwich boxes so we could prepare our breakfast. Everywhere in the house, kitchen and bathroom are clean. “Wonderful position with a view over the Derwent river. Squeezy parking and wouldnt cope with a large vehicle or a van. The road in would be difficult with a van and no area to turn around. No problems if youre just travelling in a car.”
