Picture yourself in gorgeous Ludlow, Vermont, the home of Okemo Mountain for the holidays, vacations or a weekend getaway. This fantastic house has been specifically updated to cater to large groups. Terrific in-town location on Okemo Shuttle Route. Hop on the bus right outside your door to Okemo Mountain. Location offers something for everyone. 1/2 Mile shuttle ride to Okemo Mountain, short walk to town to many fine restaurants, pubs and stores or venture nearby for all Vermont has to offer.

The Base Lodge has everything your group needs to have a good time!

Notes:

Wildlife: You may see wildlife including deer, coyotes, foxes, and bears. Please be mindful of your surroundings and leaving out food and trash.

Weather: In the winter, there will be snow, ice, and occasional snowstorms. We recommend driving a vehicle with AWD or 4WD. Please drive with caution and be prepared with regards to the ability of your vehicle to drive in the snow.

Air conditioning: There are four very large window units to cool all common areas of the house on both the first and second floors. Nights are typically much cooler and window fans are provided for all bedrooms for your comfort.

Easter stay

A large group of 10 adults and 12 kids ranging from 1 to 14 stayed at the lodge over Easter. The house had a fully equipped kitchen (including 2 dishwashers, 2 ovens and 2 fridges) that allowed us to cook multiple meals and easily clean afterwards. The house is centrally located and we could walk to restaurants, shops and the grocery stores. The hot tub and the pool table provided ample entertainment to the extend that the kids didn't even watch TV. Thank you very much for hosting us!

Great extended weekend

We have a group which tries to get away to Vermont once a year. This was actually our second stay at the Base Lodge (first was in 2022). The property has plentiful accommodation and a great interior space just a short walk from central Ludlow. We also appreciate the quiet back yard amenities at the Lodge. The owners were very responsive during our stay, answering questions promptly and keeping track of our needs. We would definitely stay again.

Our 2nd stay here and it was just as fabulous as the first. Clean, huge kitchen with more than enough plate ware, pots/pans and kitchen gizmos and a dining room large enough for a banquet. Highly recommend!

Great for a large group!

We loved staying here and Diana was a great host! The space fits large groups comfortably. We mainly went to snowboard/ski and loved how close we were to the slopes (not even a 5 minute drive). Definitely will come back!

Lifetime memories

Base Lodge surpassed our expectations. The size and layout of the lodge is ideal for a large group. The three spaced apart common areas gave everyone an area to enjoy in smaller groups. The dining room comfortably seated all of us. The size of the kitchen lends itself to several people cooking at once. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, playground across the street and nearby skiing. We hope Base Lodge becomes an annual tradition.

Fabulous Stay!

Diane's place in Ludlow is spacious and beautiful, in an ideal location in the town of Ludlow! Easy walking to restaurants, grocery, bars and a very short drive to the ski resort. The place has a beautiful backyard and patio area (love the hot tub) and indoors has a very spacious dining area. Pool, Shuffleboard, foozball, etc were all hits! Thanks again and we'll look to come back for ski season / another summer weekend :)

Great House

We had 16 people and this house was perfect! So many rooms and places to hang out. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Diane was very responsive and helpful. It did get hot upstairs but there are window fans and big fans to help with that. We had a great time! We definelty recommend this place!

Fabulous!

Every year near the 4th of July our extended family gets together. This year we stayed at this house. It was wonderful! There were lots of bedrooms and beds for all plus it has numerous rooms to gather in. There was a living room, a den with a foosball table, a room upstairs with a shuttle board and couches and another room with a pool table. The dining room was huge with a long table that could fit everyone plus another little round table in a nook. The kitchen has two refrigerators and stoves and two dishwashers and a beautiful granite island. Outside there was a deck with a table and chairs and a hot tub plus a good size backyard with a fire pit. At times there were some gnats/no seeums that were annoying but it was just that time of year. They were also on the golf course etc. There was lots to do in the area. I love walking everyday and it was so nice to walk around the cute downtown and neighborhood. It was a nice area and felt very safe. You could walk to shops and restaurants and bars. Diane was so nice and excellent at communicating. The house was neat and clean and was so perfect for a big family gathering. Some people stayed up later than others and because the house is so spread out the people sleeping were never bothered by those staying up playing games. We had an excellent time and I highly recommend this home! It was a fabulous week! We all give it the highest rating possible.

Great place to host a reunion

We are a group of 19 people who have stayed at the Base Lodge several time over the years for annual reunions (interrupted only because of Covid). It is a perfect house for multiple people, with great gathering spaces, a terrific kitchen/dining area, lovely yard with fire ring, deck with hot tub and gas grill, games, pool table, handicapped accessible. Fantastic! The owners couldn't be nicer--super-accessible and responsive. The area is great--walking distance to shops, grocery store, book store, restaurants. Can't recommend it enough! And can't wait to come again next year.

Crazy Big House

There were 15 of us ranging from age 1- 67. We enjoyed the house. Very comfy and nothing around to really worry about with the kids playing everywhere. Plenty of space to spread out. We were a little disappointed with the hot tub, which we communicated with the owner. They are working on fixing it, but that didn’t help us for our weekend. Close enough to the mountain. We did try the shuttle on Saturday, but it wasn’t available on Friday.

Wonderful house and location, be careful of rate changes

We had a wonderful experience at the house. It’s spacious, well appointed, and well equipped for multi-family fun. The proximity to Okemo mountain makes for an easy trip to and from your ski trip. Lots of positives for the house, but my major warning is to beware of post booking rate changes. I made a reservation via VRBO and it was confirmed. However, I later received a note from the owners that rates were increasing by 43%. Quite the surprise! I made many offers to split the difference and in the end wound up with a 33% rate hike. We still made the trip and it was fun, but be careful of rate changes. You may wind up with an unpleasant surprise!

Review of skihouse in Okemo

Plenty of room for the 18 people that I brought to the rental. Bedrooms everywhere, fully stocked kitchen, enough TVs and bathrooms. We paid the extra fee for the hot tub and all of the kids enjoyed it. Location is excellent and we had a great stay. We will rent this property in the future.

Wonderful house for a group trip

We could not have been happier with our stay. The house is spacious, clean, updated and comfortable. The ten bedrooms were perfect for everyone having their own space. The back yard and fire pit provided a great place to hang out. The proximity to the town center of Ludlow can't be beat. With a one-minute drive to grocery stores, liquor stores, lunch places, etc., we were able to plan our meals each day rather than having to engage in a massive shopping trip at the start. There are nice coffee shops, book stores and the like within easy walking distance. A few members of our group worked at the house and had no issues with the Internet. We had a couple people who needed to social distance as best as possible with the Delta variant spreading. The house is big enough to really accommodate that indoors, and provides ample outdoor space to keep everyone together and engaged. Finally, Diane was a wonderful host who patiently asked all the crazier and crazier questions I posed about how we could potentially have people in a "quarantine" wing of the house. During a rather stressful time when it felt like the trip was falling apart, Diane provided timely and clear communication that helped us keep our trip on schedule.

Wonderful house!

This was a perfect property for a family reunion! Plenty of gathering space and the fire pit and hot tub were used every day. The beds were also so comfy. Diane was an excellent host and very forgiving of a couple child related mishaps. Wonderful stay!
