“The rooms are lovely and sumptuous. However, I only ever found one staff member who had any english, and that was on the last day. Also, my Mandarin, which is minimal, but worked fine in Guangzhou, was incomprehensible here where perhaps there are fewer foreigners. I could not ever figure out where the breakfast was. I finally moved to a hotel closer to the university, where more effort was made by staff to work with me to mutually communicate.
Mostly this is a Chinese business hotel. ……
