“A comfortable cabin located close to the Yellow River State Forest. Plenty of room for 4 or 6 people (we were a group of 4). Two roomy bedrooms plus a loft. Note that the lower bedroom has a queen-size bed, not king as listed in the description. We did some hiking at the Yellow River State Forest and Effigy Mounds National Monument. McGregor and Marquette are two nearby river towns that are also nice to visit.”

“This was our 3rd time staying here! It has become a tradition we look forward to and talk about often. This is a beautiful property and very nice cabin. I always feel safe and comfortable staying here. I can't wait to come back again! ”

“The cabin was conveniently located and allowed us ready access for hiking along the high bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River particularly in areas with effigy/burial mounds. In addition, we were entertained by the bird life. A barred owl vocalized nearby the cabin on successive nights and gave us a good look on one occasion. We very much enjoyed our stay.”

“The place was cooler than the pictures. Tucked way back in a private community was very cool. Great view of the timber and the animals. Our only complaint is that the remotes need labels, I know first world problems right!! You will not be disappointed with this cabin or the views.”

“The cottage was better than the pictures. The location is very central to the local activities. There’s multiple good restaurants within walking distance. It was my husband, teenage son, and two medium/small dogs. There was plenty of space inside and outside for us all to hang out. The hot tub was amazing after hiking and exploring. The place had great amenities. We will be staying again, maybe in summer for the pool. Totally recommend.”

“The cabin and location are great. Everything was as described. I wasn’t impressed with the cleanliness. There were stains on the floor from spills and marks/crumbs on end tables from previous guests having drinks/food. It’s nice that pets are allowed but with that comes additional cleaning that was missed. Pet hair on furniture and a spot by one of the doors that appeared to be from a pet having an accident. Hopefully those can be areas of improvement. I’d overall recommend this place and I’d……

“We all enjoyed getting away from home for a while. The hosts were very nice and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The only thing that i didn't like were the pictures on the listing had filters on them so that was a little deceiving from how it actually looked. Overall great though. ”

“This is a very nice place. I think calling it a working ranch is a bit of a stretch, but it was nice to hang out with the animals. ”
