The Lowry does not maintain the standards of a 5*hotel. Attention to detail expected in such an establishment was clearly lacking. It is this attention to detail that makes the difference between a 4 or 5* hotel. For example: Meagre pillows, duvet cover on inside out, broken light switch, shower gel and hand wash dispensers in wrong place. Meagre tea and coffee in room, plastic milk sachets, and no complimentary vanity accessories (cotton wool, etc). No doorman, no concierge, sparse and unwelcoming lobby and unhelpful reception staff regarding taxis. Breakfast offering reasonable however, bacon undercooked, Eggs Royale inedible- smoked salmon heated under grill and hollandaise congealed.
