Let's start with the great: There are a few people including Nino (manager at the Buffet) and a wonderful gentleman who greets me in the lobby and makes me feel welcome that are the highlights of my recent stay. The property is beautifully designed and pleasant.
Detracting from this experience a few things stand out:
1) The house cleaners ignored my AC setting and turned my room into a freezer when the room was serviced. I came in to full power set to 10 degrees - absurd.
2) There are no USB chargers in the room of any kind - absurd for a 5 star hotel and often found in 3 star hotels.
3) I had five conversations, including two with the manager on duty before a working type c charger was secured over a 35 minute period which began with the operator telling me that there was not a single charger to be found in the entire hotel.
4) My keycard stopped working after going down specially to have it extended the day before.
5) They removed the lights from the glass trees in the french restaurant "to save money on power" which made the restaurant much less attractive than before for a $100. savings in LED electricity a month.
6) Welcome drinks have all but disappeared from the hotel - it was one of my favorite things on my first visit to the hotel 10 years ago, served by a beautiful woman.
7) As a repeat guest for 10 years who already books online with all my details, almost none of which have changed, it is annoying to have to do ID photos, home address, and all the basics all over
