Welcome to The Farmhouse on The Hill.
A true labor of love, this 1870’s home was lovingly restored, sustaining its historical elements while updating its beauty with modern amenities. Sitting high above the village of Marlboro, this cozy three-bed, two-bath features a spacious layout, a grand front porch with sunrise and Hudson River views, and a bonus third level with an office speakeasy. The original 8” pine floors on the ground level were unearthed, brightening the main gathering spaces and exposing their former glory.
The kitchen has been reconfigured to create a more open and easy layout. It features a newly-tiled white mosaic backsplash, quartz countertops, maple cabinets, and brand-new stainless steel appliances. The coffee amenities are considered by many to be the best on the West Side of the Hudson: French press, stovetop Moka, traditional drip, and K cup. Additionally, the OXO grinder makes each and every East Williamsburg barista envious.
The windowed downstairs bath was designed by the owners themselves blending modern style with Hudson Valley chicness. The pièce de résistance comes in the shape of a double shower and includes a bench, while the tile is a black lava stone accompanied by double brass fixtures and local bluestone shelves and steps. The vanity is composed of a Carrera marble top with a vintage pedestal stand. In New York City, this room would be considered a studio apartment.
The first bedroom is located on the main floor and is home to a queen size bed with 12” memory foam mattress and northwest exposure.
The second floor houses the primary and secondary bedrooms as well as the laundry room. The secondary bedroom mimics the first bedroom on the main floor, with 12'' memory foam matress and northwest exposure. The primary features a king bed with 12” memory foam mattress with north and east exposures: Hudson River and sunrise snapshots commence.
The upstairs bathroom has also been reimagined. With two windows and a view of the Hudson, the shower/tub features a glazed subway tile and auburn walls inspired by Autumn in the Hudson Valley.
Hidden away on the third floor is the office speakeasy with lofted ceilings, a skylight, an electric standing desk, 34” curved monitor, and a door for ultimate privacy while writing, painting, or shorting Gamestop. There's a bonus flex space on this floor as well, ideal for yoga or meditation should you see fit.
