The Great room has an open floor plan with floor to ceiling glass doors facing lakefront, propane gas burning stove, Smart TV, Blue Ray DVD player, comfortable leather queen, and twin sofas . There is a WASHER/DRYER, dishwasher, ice-maker fridge, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, regular and K Cup coffee maker, and outdoor GRILL with propane gas for cooking and updated bathroom. The house has AIR CONDITIONING, additional fans, keyless entry, modern bathroom, new sewer, water hook up, and excellent drinking water. Owls Nest Amenities provided such as many sizes of assorted life jackets needed for the kayaks, adult and child puzzles and toys, child seats, and complimentary coffee basket do take up some of the limited storage space at the Owls Nest so email us if concerned about storage needs as the Owls Nest is a small cabin.

ACCESS DETAILS:
GREAT FOR SENIORS! This property comes with a PRIVATE lakefront, level lawn, and a private large DEEP WATER DOCK that you can fish off. Experience and enjoy the "artsy" Owls Nest, a 2 bedroom, 1 bath small cabin located on a peninsula (with no through traffic) in a peaceful cove with a large private dock, at the western end of the lake with great sunsets. This home is a perfect cozy, romantic getaway for an anniversary or honeymoon or a quiet escape for a small family with children. There is flat paved driveway suitable for tricycles. There is a wheelchair ramp into house but only 30” door to entry of cabin and smaller entry door to bathroom so we are not rated wheelchair accessabile. Ask for handout with more acessability details.

COMMUNITY /AREA DETAILS
Located on the Penel Acres Peninsula, one of the best locations on Deep Creek Lake. When ready to explore, you are close to SEVERAL PARKS - 5 miles from Swallow Falls, 2 miles from Fork Run, 7 miles from Wisp Resort --along with all the other shops, restaurants, and attractions on Garrett Highway. The Owls Nest is a member of the Garret County Chamber of Commerce.

Please note that DNR allows docks on lake after March 15 - December 1, 2025. Our Dock was put in March 23, 2025 for summer and will be removed during November. Dates for installing and removal are DEPENDENT ON WEATHER. All docks must be removed by December 1 at Deep Creek. Our kayaks and canoes can still launch year round from our shoreline weather dock in or not.

Disclaimer: The Owls Nest driveway and Penel Acres peninsula access road are both flat and paved. The roads and driveway is plowed but 4WD & AWD or snow tires are recommended for the area of Garrett County, Maryland during the winter months of November - March. Email us for more information.

Disclaimer: The Owls Nest lists as small cabin in very desirable neighborhood with deep water lakefront where you can fish from the dock and kayaks are included in the price. Note some guests describe the cabin as small and limited in storage but are happy because of the LAKEFRONT PRICE, PRIME LOCATION, level lawn, large level parking lot, level access road, and the excellent Owls Nest high quality and quantity of amenities. Our cleaning standards that include cleaning all bed covers including blankets and quilts between rentals, and changing hot tub water between rentals rate high reviews. Guests are limited to 4 because of the cabin size.
