House and property were wonderful. Plenty of room for family and friends. Close to lots of amenities. Hot tub stopped working and they got someone to come repair it on the weekend. Great service. Would definitely stay there again.

The house is in a great location. The attention to detail was beyond explanation. We had everything we needed and more! The house was really clean. The back yard is beautiful. Perfect for watching sunset. The hot tub was perfect after a long day of hiking. Would absolutely stay here again.

Visiting student at Humboldt

We brought the extended family for a visit with our son at Humboldt. The property was exactly as described, well maintained, clean, well stocked, and comfortable. We all loved the mermaid decor everywhere. We appreciated all the little extras provided that made the stay really special. It is clear that someone lovingly curated every detail of Mermaid Cove. The space perfectly fit our group, with a separate bathroom for each bedroom. We are looking forward to booking here again.

Unable to stay at this VRBO

We were all set to stay at the mermaid house. All payments have been made, and then we were informed that these owners pulled out from this platform so we never were able to enjoy the mermaid house which made us very very disappointed. However, Vacasa stepped up to the plate and helped us find another place to stay at.

A lovely stay in the redwoods park area.

Our family of six (all adults; 3 couples) loved this property. Each couple had a bathroom, and the living, dining and kitchen areas were large enough to accommodate us all when we sat down to eat or to socialize. Large open windows! We needed extra towels and they were delivered pronto! 'Tis hard to get the kayaks down to the water, so if you plan to come to boat on the water, be ready for a good hike down the steps and negotiating among some underbrush. A minor complaint, as the weather had begun to cool when we arrived, so relinquishing this was not a big deal. I think new visitors will find the property quite charming and their needs amply fulfilled.

Great vacation home for a family

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mermaid Cove! It is located next door to a great walking/bike trail. Everything inside and outside was clean. The refrigerator water stream was reeeeealllly slow, but that was only a minor inconvenience. Be prepared to be fascinated by all the ways the owners have incorporated mermaids and mermaid colors in every aspect of the decor and details.

This house is a Mermaids Paradise! It was so fun and the views are stunning, both my daughters ages 12 & 26 loved this house! We spent Thanksgiving there visiting our oldest daughter who was attending Cal Poly Humboldt, 10/10 recommend!!

We loved our stay at this property. Check-in/-out process was easy. House was clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. Our 16-year old loved playing pool with her dad. We all enjoyed the hot tub daily. Convenient that towels for the hot tub were provided. Plenty of space to spread out. Had a fox come and visit on the back porch one evening. Perfect coastal retreat

Very well stocked. The turquoise and mermaid theme was so fun. House is beautiful and comfortable too. Especially the beds. Boys loved pool table and board games. Wish we had more time to enjoy the house more but we’re there to watch the Kinetic race. Neighborhood is beautiful and tucked away in central location on Mckinleyvile inbetween Trinidad and Arcata/Eureka. They didn’t let us check in early so had to wait until 4 so that was only bummer.

Decent house, terrible customer service

It’s a nice rental but the lack of communication from the host and the bad customer service took what would have been a lovely vacation and made it irritating. The host never replied in a timely manner to any messages I sent through the app and left me waiting for weeks. I finally had to call just to get the details of how to get into the property because they would not reply to my messages and did not send the details as promised. When I asked for a late check out they were not accommodating at all when in my experience in the past that has not been an issue. The new standard of having check out time at 10 am and not being flexible on that is really unacceptable when considering how much these rentals are. At 10:00 on the dot a maid knocked on the door and fussed at us to leave already, I’ve never had such a bad experience at a VRBO. Having the maid show up to harass us was the most upsetting part, so unprofessional. I would not book this property or this host ever again

Beautiful House

When you first walk in the door you are greeted with amazing views. The house is very well stocked with everything you might need and more. The location is amazing with the River, the Ocean and Trails right out your front door. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. What a trip!

Mermaid Cove is the perfect place for a big group to stay together and enjoy the areas parks and towns. A group of friends met in McKinleyville to explore the parks, beaches and local shops/towns for 7 days. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base than Mermaid Cove. From the views to the house set up, we had everything to make this the perfect vacation together. With your own home banana slug mascot to the frogs singing at night and each morning to the waves breaking on the beach, we were in paradise. Redwoods National and State Park with its multitude of hiking paths, visitor centers, and beaches to explore close by, we had plenty to do in the area. You can’t go wrong with staying at Mermaid Cove.

Amazing Beach House

We loved this house. It was perfect for our annual friends book vacation. We loved how spacious it was and enjoyed sitting on the porch (or in the hot tub) watching the ocean as we relaxed. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. Plus the beds are so comfortable we contacted the property manager to find out what mattresses they had. Overall amazing stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mermaid Cove. The house was clean and well-stocked. The hot tub and fire table outside are awesome when combined with the amazing views! They also had cornhole outside, which we loved. It's important to note that the house doesn't have actual access to the beach. The views are great though!
