Hotel is some distance from the train station. The foyer/ground floor is impressive but my room was nothing like the photos on this website. The bed had an old bedspread, the décor was shoddy and the bathroom looked old. It was not possible to close the bathroom door unless I stood in the corner next to the toilet and squeezed whilst I closed it. However, for the price and the country, the hotel room was acceptable. The restaurant is open 24 hours. I used it for several nights and the food was quite good. I was the only person in the restaurant every time. However the breakfast is the opposite - weak tasteless coffee and a poor choice of food, much of it not very good. Staff were friendly, though not all understood English. One helped me to order a taxi. There are several ATMs outside, 2 supermarkets next door and a shopping mall within a short taxi drive away. Walking in the surrounding area can be dangerous as the pavements can have gaps with 6 feet drops into gutters and the traffic is relentless.

a comfy hotel in medan town center.
good wifi, simple breakfast, best location, near local food if you turn right after exit the hotel. u can get indonesia sim cards too. a small supermarket is around the corner. big malls just 5-10 minutes ride on grab and gojek - their local version of uber with bikes and car on the offer.

I really enjoy the stay there. Front desk were friendly. Room service are responsive. But the smoking room! No ventilation. Other than that, it's all fine.

helpful staff,good for the economic cost hotel
I stay for 2 days on mid Aug 2014 at Cordela which close to train station and some shops. The standard room is clean with comfortable bed, small table and wifi is available, so it's convenient for work. However there is no chair, I should call reception who was very responsive to provide it for me. Some TV channel are blurred and doesn't work, so It require to make sure all channel are OK. Compare to other hotel with same price, Cordela hotel is much nicer.
