My wife and I needed to make a last-minute trip to SK from our home in central AB to assist a family member. Two days after arriving in SK we'd accomplished what we'd needed to do, and began our journey back to central AB.
Because we'd set off later than planned, by the time we'd crossed the SK-AB border and arrived in the Medicine Hat area it was already dinner time. Not wanting to add another 4-5 hours to our journey that day we turned to the Google search engine on our 'phones to find somewhere to spend the night.
We were traveling with our two small dogs, so we needed to find a pet-friendly facility. Our search revealed 3-4 places that would accommodate us and our dogs. All but one--Home Inn--were over $120.00 per night--and they also charged extra for the dogs.
As happened, Home Inn was a quick jog off the Trans-Canada, and was located in an area with many restaurants. Prabh, the young lady at the front desk listened to our 'last minute stop' story, and found us a room.
The room--as was the entire facility--was clean and neat, and everything worked. The bed was comfortable, and the area quiet, so we slept well. In the morning, we were pleasantly surprised to find a free hot breakfast waiting for us in the lounge adjacent to the main entrance.
After breakfast we checked out--<$100.00 for the stay ;-) The young lady who handed us our receipt, like Prabh, the night before, was extremely courteous, and pleasant.
Home Inn, Medicine Hat? We give it 4.5/5 stars!
