We purchased our room at this hotel through Expedia. Apparently when you purchase discount rooms you get the worst rooms in the hotel as far as location and condition of the room. We checked into the room late in the evening. - We had to stand on our tippy toes to see outside the window which was surrounded by walls all around, seemed like you are staying in a basement. - The towels were old and almost shredding. - The sink in the bathroom would not drain. - The blanket on the bed was thin and old, it wasn't worthy of a homeless person. In the morning we asked for a new room, we were told to come back at 3:00 to a new room. Upon our return we had to wait for 2.5 hours to get keys to our new room. - The new tower was much nicer. - The room was updated and newly built, the towels were beautiful. - The bedding wasgreat. - However, we had requested to be in a quiet area of the floor, we were on the first level of the hotel just above the reception area. The phones on conversations were non-stop all night . - on the street side because of the streets were right below our window. - We had a hard time sleeping even with ear plugs. Overall our experience at this Hotel Cathedral was not pleasant, the amenities in the room were lacking and the noise level was unacceptable even though we had specifically requested quiet room. The front desk people were kind, respectful, service oriented, and responded positively anytime we asked for taxis or assistance.

I checked in at 11:30 pm to a room that wasn't clean from the previous user. I tried calling the receptionist, but the ringing functionality was malfunctioning. The next morning, they offered to upgrade my room for one night, but the whole thing was such a hassle, so I declined. I asked if I could get a discount on staying one more night in the same room, and they quoted me more than what I was paying. This has been the most frustrating hotel stay ever.
