We had a decent stay at Milano Scala. We booked two rooms, one for $440 and one for $456. The positives: the staff were polite and professional. They always tried to help with our stroller when we had to go down the three steps to get from the entrance to the hotel lobby. The breakfast buffet was in a nice and airy room with the harpist. The critical feedback: one of the rooms (309) smelled bad. It wasn’t enough to complain about but it was as though something rancid was being covered up by very heavily perfumed cleaning products. I don’t usually mind when hotels have a signature scent. And I’m realistic that a lot of unfortunate things happen in these rooms unbeknownst to us guests. I would just suggest a deep clean. I believe it was either coming from the couch, bed or small bedside carpet by the bed. Otherwise, I thought that the large jacuzzi tubs could be attractive to some guests. Because it was quite elevated my 80-year-old mother found it difficult to get in and out. I imagine it can be a bit dangerous for older guests, although it does look attractive. The pillows were very flat and hard. I usually am not very discriminating when it comes to the bedding. I find most hotel beds to be comfortable. Both me and my partner, also pretty low maintenance, found these pillows to be very uncomfortable. It would be nice if there were a few different pillows in the closet if guests found this to be uncomfortable so they wouldn’t have to request for new ones to be sent up.
