“Very fun getaway property. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, coffee makers and well heated/insulated in the wintry weather. Property is lovely for walks and must be amazing in all seasons. Close enough to Lexington for errands, far enough away to be secluded and quiet. Pool Table was a big hit!”

“The place is really nice with a Jacuzzi, large covered patio, comfortable beds with fans! However, I had trouble finding and accessing messages from the owner that she sent through VRBO. All previous hosts had communicated directly with me via text or emails (which is simple and reliable). I called VRBO service when I got no text or emails from this owner, and they sent me a text stating how to get into the house, but no more info. Via text, she told me that the detailed info for guests was……

“Beautifully upgraded, nicely maintained, well supplied, great outdoor spaces. Plenty of beds and couches and really nice lavatory facilities. Hosts communicated quickly and had a ton of local info and history on site. Little touches and amenities were excellent. One of our group will likely bring his family to this choice. It was off-season for affordability, but what a sweet choice. Devil's Backbone food and brews was relatively close and good rating as well.”

“We traveled X-country from TX to meet up with our adult daughter & her partner, who traveled down from NJ, and we decided that western Virginia was a good place to hold our reunion just before Christmas. We were lucky to find Bud's Place. It is a lovely home, nicely decorated for Christmas, & there were plenty of spaces for us to be together to eat, play, or hang out, as well as places for us to retreat to for some privacy or work. “What a lovely, historic farmhouse! Our family enjoyed the beautiful setting and landscapes surrounding this adorable farmhouse. We were witness to beautiful sunrises and sunsets and our kiddos absolutely loved watching the cows move about on the fields around us. Highly recommend this little piece of serene history in the hills. ”
