I had two problems with staff, and one staff person who was great. The first problem concerned my reservations. I wasn't sure how long I'd be in Minneapolis, 2 days or 4 days, so, to avoid a cancelaion fee, I made two reservations. Reservation 1 was for April 16th and 17th. Reservation 2 was for April 18th and 19th. By the evening of th 16th I knew I'd be staying all 4 nights, so on the 17th I told the man at the front desk I would be staying and that I'd be in the same room all 4 nights. On the 19th I found the guy at the desk hadn't entered this information into the computer and I'd been marked as a "NO-Show" for April 18. So that was my first staff problem.
The great staff person was a woman named Erin who was on the front desk the morning of the 19th. She discovered the man's mistake, erased my "No Show" status, and gave me a small discount for the 4th night.
My other problem with staff was at breakfast on the morning of Saturday the 19th. Other days of the week ther had been two people taking care of guests having breakfast in the hotel. On the 19th there was only one, and the woman who was working there was working at top speed to take care of everyone. To make it worse, there seemed to be a big game that day and there were more people than I ever saw on the other 3 days I was there. She shouldn't have had to cover this way. There should have been better scheduling.
