The location of the house is great. It sits on top of a hill with a great view, and is located halfway between Florence and Pisa. The street up from the town is steep and partially narrow, but not hard to drive, as long as one shifts down.
There are many interesting towns and sites of interest nearby, and Pistoia has a great Park and Ride to take the train into Florence.
When we were there, it was July and a heat wave. The house does not have air conditioning, but since it is on a hill, the nights were cool, and by opening all the windows at night we could cool the house down enough.
The inside of the house is as described in the listing. There is a great terrace at the main floor with a big table under an umbrella, a seating area and a BBQ. We used it every day for Breakfast, and dinner. It is south west facing, so with the heat wave it was too hot in the afternoon, but as soon as the sun went down, we could use it again.
Upon our inquiry, Gian-Lucca brought us some lawn chairs we could set up on the shady side during the day. That was great, since we spent a lot of time at the house.
The upstairs kitchen is a bit small, only two people can work at the same time, but it is well equipped and does its job. There is a downstairs kitchen as well, a lot roomier, but there is no fridge nor stove, so it is useless. In summer it would make a great living room, since it is the coolest room in the house.
Overall we had a pleasant experience and Gian-Lucca was a great host.
