I would no longer consider this property a five star hotel. I had the opportunity to visit this property in 2017 and everything about it felt luxurious. I couldn’t tell enough people about it so they could check it out.
I just returned from a four night stay I was so excited about, and needless to say, the Zilara Rosehall did not resemble what I visited 8 years ago. I noticed the average conditions mostly in the rooms/suites. This is important to me because I spend an ample amount of time utilizing my living space. The rooms just seemed dull and were showing their age in the bathrooms and floors. Lots of brown spots and worn looking areas. I also noticed the hallway walls and carpets look extremely worn and dirty in lots of areas.
While I wasn’t impressed at all with the living quarters, the dining options and food was delicious. The grounds were well kept, and most staff was very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was nice, but nothing like I experienced before.
Overall, it was just a disappointing feeling to show up to a place I had such high hopes for. That being said, I do believe a serious update needs to happen especially for the prices they charge and the fact this is supposed to be a five star resort. Until then, I will not recommend this place to others like I did in the past. I would suggest checking out some other options in the area.
