A great place for mountain vacation and hiking, the rooms are large, clean and the staff are friendly! Everything here is like a paradise, you are completely integrated with nature! Overall, I would not recommend this property. Customer service was terrible! We were told the restaurant had limited hours, nobody said you can only get carry out...the entire time. 2 workers in the coffee area were working restaurant orders and the bar, good luck getting anything. They would continuously walk away while there was a line. At check in, she was less than helpful. The room itself is probably what you should expect. The shower had mold/mildew through out. Certainly not worth the premium fee I paid to stay. I would not recommend.

Very helpful staff. Reasonable price, solid accommodations. Spacious rooms. Quiet setting. Dining options were limited - would have liked better stocked cafe and if restaurant was open for seated dining.

Wir haben für eine Nacht ein Zimmer für die Durchreise in der Big Sur Lodge gehabt. Das Zimmer war sehr groß und sehr ruhig. Das Bett sehr bequem und sauber. Im Zimmer gab es keinen TV und das war auch sehr gut so. Wir haben eine sehr ruhige und sehr lange Nacht gehabt. Leider gab es kein Frühstück inklusive und das WLAN klappte so gut wie gar nicht, nur in der Lodge. Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder nehmen, da es dort sehr ruhig und in der Nähe vom Highway 1 liegt.

Definitely felt like a camp ground rather than hotel. Room smelled moldy. I didn’t realize because I booked late and online. Staff seemed to feel they were doing me a favor rather than there to serve. Not worth the money.

Our cabin was very peaceful and comfortable and we appreciated the beautiful location in the forest and easy access to the state park hiking trails. On the day of our visit the lodge cafe was only doing takeaway service due to staff shortage and we felt the quality and quantity of food was not worth the price charged. Otherwise would not hesitate to recommend Big Sur Lodge

We loved our stay at Big Sur Lodge! The access to the state park was amazing and staying in the redwoods but inside in a comfy bed was the way to go. So many trails right outside the door! If I had one critique it would be their showers need updating. They are old and dingy and even the shower curtain is coming apart and gross and the shower head was inadequate for pressure - sort of like a camping shower but should at least be a bit upgraded for the cost of the rooms. Otherwise a good experience!

Location incredible. Lodge very spacious. The property in general is very nice and is rustic in a nice way. Lodges could do with minor upgrading. Paint and carpeting.

The surrounding area was a little misleading about how few trails I could take my on. The room was well appointed. Comfy bed. soft towels. Tea bags and hot water kettle was great to have.

Pros: It’s in the Pfeiffer Big Sur state park, so it’s quiet and basically you are in the redwoods forest. People who work in the lodge are very kind and friendly. Also It’s a dog friendly lodge. Cons: the facility is very old. Needs a good upgrade. Because we had a dog, I assume that our room was dog friendly room, and it smelled like pee, that was unpleasant. There is only one trail that dogs are allowed around the lodge which is only about half miles.

The front desk who checked me in and checked me out was very nice, professional and helpful. She made the process very easy and answered all my questions. Thank you to the woman who helped me check in on the evening Sunday Oct 5 and checked me out the morning after. Kudos to her excellent service.

Facility is dated; however, the rooms were clean and provided for our overall needs. Much of the time was spent outdoors on local trails and exploring. Big Sur Lodge has an attached restaurant that serves delicious food albeit a small menu. There’s a small convenience store attached that also has basic amenities that may be needed during your stay. There is a lot to enjoy in the nature that surrounds this property. Good value for the experience.

Loved the location inside the park! Absolutely beautiful!! The cabin with kitchen was nice and clean and well stocked. Restaurant ran out of most items on the menu the night we ate there unfortunately, and they weren’t busy. The food was good, however. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay, and we highly recommend! Hope to come back.
