Great location & nice neighborhood!

We arrived at around 7pm, the lady at the reception was quite nice. It was a very cosy and quiet hotel. The size of the room is just right for 2 ppl, it's clean and have everything you need. Very close to the city center where all the pretty houses are.

The staff was nice however, the other guests, one family in particular, were rude and loud. Half of the hotel was woken up this morning at 4 am by one of them banging and shouting at a door. I would not say the conditions were worth what I paid for two nights and suspect the hotel up charged because there’s a marathon in Big Sur this weekend. Overall all it was okay but not sure I would go back.

This property is super close to downtown Carmel. It’s only one block away. Super convenient to stores, grocery marts, eateries, etc. Rooms are modernized, although not entirely sound proof. Very clean rooms. Front reception area is small, with breakfast options in the morning. It’s not extravagant but enough to get you started for the day. We enjoyed our stay there.

Really helpful Hotel Manager. Not normally one for budget Hotels but this is in a great location, rooms spacious and clean with a homely feel. Breakfast a bonus..Thoroughly enjoyed our stay for one night of our road trip. Loved Carmel by the sea..a charming resort.

We enjoyed a night stay here. Host graciously let us change room to avoid stairs, and let us check out late to use space for a business call. Thank You! Property was renovated a few years ago (?) but our room condition was still excellent; all was clean, furniture, bed, bathroom in tip-top shape. Property has wooden steps to top floor, it's fine, but you will hear ppl going up and down. great location, short walk into the downtown Ocean Ave shopping/restaurant district. Short drive to Pt. Lobos Park. Breakfast offerings kind of standard hot egg/sausage/pancake,and variety of fruit, yogurt, cold. Note that Breakfast area is cramped, but still was fine for us and other guests.

Great value for the area

Had a pleasant 1 night stay here in January. We were able to park the car easily. The room was fine - very basic but cute from the outside. We needed to wear earplugs at night as it was very loud, especially when other rooms were using their showers. The room was spacious and clean. The location was good for the price. It’s on the edge of the walkable shopping / tourist district. We walked to the sea and back easily. We visited mid-week in January and found it a bit difficult to get a late dinner in the area. Maybe book somewhere for dinner. When checking out the hotel really went above and beyond for us. Instead of holding our luggage for a couple of hours, they let us keep the room for a few extra hours. They knew we had a long drive and said we could store our luggage and also freshen up before the drive. This was exceptionally helpful and kind. Thank you!

Extremely convenient location to the downtown area. The hotel room was clean, welcoming and pretty. The complimentary breakfast had a good selection of options, coffee machine, hot and cold foods. Check in and check out were very easy, hassle-free.

Pros: Location is right next to shops and restaurants. Room decor and furniture are simple but updated. Bed was comfy Cons: Registration area is small and outdated. Super noisy at night and the walls are thin. Room had no air conditioner and the old heater didn't seem to work. It was freezing in the morning. The room is tiny! Bathroom sink was a bit dirty and the shower curtains were torn. Outdoors is outdated, dingy. Looks better at night.

We have stayed here twice, and the first time was perfect!! Lovely courtyard view out the dutch door, and a really nice updated room. Second (most recent) time, we got put in a hallway corner room next to the storage closet, with only a view of the neighboring hotel’s backside, which wasn’t great. No view of the courtyard either, and the room did not have the nice built in closets or as new updates as the first room we had. The room was overall clean and comfortable however there were quite a few scuffs and chips in the bathroom infrastructure, which looked quite worn and less updated than the first room we stayed in. The parking situation also gets quite packed and if you don’t snag a spot early, there isn’t much you can do. Other than that, this is a quiet and convenient location for walking around carmel and seeing all there is to offer. Very close to green space, shops and restaurants at carmel plaza, and a grocery store. Also has a good basic continental breakfast. A great value for the price all-around so long as you don’t get put in one of the hallway rooms.
