Room was lovely with a fireplace and a balcony overlooking the garden. The property is historic, but the bathrooms have been remodeled, so are modern. The location is fantastic--easy walk to Fishermans Wharf, restaurants and historic sites, right in Old Town Monterey. Staff were lovely. The breakfast was fine. No room service or luxury hotel amenities, but to me the charm and historic ambiance more than make up for that.

At first we were put in a first floor room, this hotel is on a busier street and less tucked away than the photos. Things have clearly been updated in decor but the amenities themselves are lacking, our A/C thermostat didn't work and there was a pot smell that either was wafting from another room or outside. Okay for one night on a road trip but wouldn't stay longer or return here.

We love the beautiful, spacious, and comfortable rooms. We enjoyed having a balcony with a garden view. There's a bit of traffic noise, but it quiets down later in the evening. The staff is always kind and helpful. Most of all, we really love the location and it has more of an airbnb feel instead of a big hotel. It's very walkable to restaurants, shopping, piers, and the Golden State Theatre. It is now our "go to" hotel when in Monterey.

I had much higher expectations for this hotel. It’s clean and well kept, but the building is like an apartment building, with the thinnest walls ever. You will hear your neighbor’s conversations, their coughing and everything else in between. The breakfast was also disappointing. Nothing hot. Hot water in the shower was also hit and miss. Disappointing.

Room was decorated cute, and felt clean. But no a/c and it was too warm. Can't sleep with anything open since patio is shared. Free continental breakfast was ridiculous. Towel hooks broken in bathroom. Wicker Chairs and dresser in room were old and worn out. No elevator for luggage...everything a little old and funky. Some may enjoy this, we did not.

Charming place! It's a historical adobe that has been converted to a hotel. The bathroom is new and modern. Because the building is old, the walls are thinner and you will hear your neighbors. If you are staying on the ground floor, you will hear creaking floors from above. The charm outweighs these inconveniences, though. Location is perfect - walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf.

Das Zimmer war sauber und schnuckelig eingerichtet. Allerdings gibt es keine Klimaanlage. Die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war ganz schrecklich. Sie Eier waren im gefrorenen Zustand, es gab viele leere Körbe die nicht nachgefüllt wurden. Es war sehr schwer was vernünftiges zu finden. Außerdem war innen alles voll und draußen war man wie abgestempelt

It would be perfect if we didn’t have to listen to an amorous couple ALL Night. The walls are tragically thin. Some sound maintenance is woefully needed.
