We arrived and the front desk staff was very nice and polite. She mentioned we got upgraded. Already paid for ocean view so I expected maybe a nicer room but when we got to the room, it was average at best, very small, and bathroom was tiny. We could barely get by the toilet when we opened the door. I hate to think what the non-upgraded room was like. We were there to celebrate our anniversary so we just went with it. We dicided to go to the fire pits and headed down the stairs which was a mistake. Due to the moist weather, I slid off the first step and as my wife described as “my cat like 57 year old reflexes” saved me from serious injuries, I slid to the bottom starfished between the rails mostly unhurt. Non-slip tape would have saved me. The overall feel was like a rebranded motel 6 but way more expensive. At $500+- a night, I expected a much nicer room.
The restaurant was nice and the service was great. The bar wasn’t a good experience the last night we were there though. The bartender ignored the guests as she had friends sitting at the bar. No service at all plus there were kids running and playing in the bar. Not a relaxing setting to view sunsets. If you want to pay too much for a “portfolio” motel, then this is a great choice. It’s a hard pass for me though.
