This place advertises free breakfast but it’s extra. Found this out the hard way. Their food isn’t that good subpar at best. The hotel is alright but doesn’t look anything like the pictures online definitely looked worse in person. The rooms are interesting we had a room that had concrete floors and walls with a bed and two chairs. The window was broken and wasn’t fixed Kinda felt like a prison. The rooms they advertised online looked way nicer. Not to mention we were the only two people in the hotel yet they put us in the corner where the maintenance closet was so it was always noisy and could hear everything through the walls. In all honesty. Spend the extra money and get a different hotel it’s not worth it at this place. Especially how it felt being swindled into thinking there was free breakfast but was not it set the whole experience up for a big fat failure

Driving up to the property on the mountain roads may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I absolutely loved it. Once there the staff was welcoming, property, unique, and beautiful, and the things to do in and around the property are very worthwhile.

Toppen restaurang, sämre rum.

Fantastisk service och jättegod mat i restaurangen. Tyvärr var det mögel på rummet, fick direkt det enda andra lediga som också luktade mycket av mögel om än var bättre. Fick tillslut byta till ett doorm som hade minst doft (även om det också luktade där) och gratis frukost istället för pengarna tillbaka för mellanskillnaden av att byta ett privat rum mot ett doorm. Skulle göra mycket att använda luftavfuktare, vädra mer och kanske även städa noggrannare (fanns synligt mögel på väggar i det första rummet). Måste dock säga att personal i restaurang och mat var något av det bästa! Även enkelt med shuttles till utflyktsmål.

Loved this place. Room with bath was very nice. The grounds were beautiful. The location is perfect to visit Monteverde Park and is directly across from the Park headquarters. The restaurant was outstanding. Everything was great!

Unfortunately the room wasn’t well cleaned. Underwear on the bathroom floor. Head board was stained and very dusty so we covered it with a towel. The hostel was really nice but our room needed some attention.

Generally it was fine. Several "as advertised" things were not functional, ie one of the two hot tubs, the cinema room apparently no longer exists/is closed, the "common kitchen" was not available. Many shared showers were not cleaned often enough or would run out of toilet paper. The staff seemed to be doing the best with what they were given.

This property is also called the lodge that is right across the street from the parking for the cloudy mist Forest. If you are going to the forest this is an excellence place to spend the night the night before that way you have easy access in the morning. Get breakfast is also excellent and advisable to add to your room for the night stay.

An ideal place to visit the Cloud Forest

I stayed for 3 nights at Selina and my experience was wonderful! The hotel had a lovely, clean room and the hotel grounds were lush, beautiful and green. Getting around by foot is a bit difficult given how remote the hotel is but you are across the street from a shuttle that can take you directly to the cloud forest, the hotel has a transit stop outside of it and the hotel can provide you with a reliable, safe ride share option. There is also a restaurant on site where you can get very good food conveniently. Hotel staff can also help you book tours in Monteverde. We took the Night Walk Tour and it was so fun!

Great stay, but cold and a bit isolated

I stayed in the 6 person dorms, and the rooms were very cold. Feeling like a constant draft. It might be the time of year, but Monteverde was very cold. The hostel arranged trips that was comparable to the price if you had to do them yourself and you could sign up the evening before for most of them. The food was fine, but the hostel is far away from the city, and the last bus leaves around 4 pm from the city Santa Elena (where the grocery shops and restaurants are). This makes it difficult unless you want to walk for 50-60 minutes.

Quite hostel in beautiful surroundings

Parking for Monteverde cloud forest is right in front of the hotel. Hotel is deep inside with no convenience stores in walkable distance. Hotels.com had incorrect location listed which made us go in circles to find the place. We used yoga room for yoga. They have kitchen. Road the hotel is terrible with many potholes. Driving in rain was terrible experience specifically when you are coming for the first time and have incorrect directions.

Muito bom.

O hotel e de fato muito bom, colchão, roupa de cama e banho de qualidade. O Atendimenro é muito bom tb, tivemos alguns desenvontros de informações de diferentes funcionarios mas nada que prejudicasse nossa estadia. O cafe da manha é bom e na recepção muito mais barato que o valor cobrado aqui no site. Onque deixou a desejar foram a cozinha coletiva e a biblioteca que me pareceu abandonada. A geladeira estava impossível de ser usada. E os livros cheio de teias de aranha e bolor.
