The "boutique hotel" left a lot to be desired. We knew we were not staying at the fanciest of establishments, but it was listed as a "4 star hotel." The room had black mold, most notably in the bathroom/shower, paint was flaking off of the walls and ceiling, the room smelled musty and the window could not be opened, and there were centipedes. This felt extremely unhealthy and concerning. We tried to do as much as possible out of the hotel so as to not be in the room. Breakfast was included, but it was not worth it.

Lovely hotel overall. The historical property really set the tone for our trip. The only downside was that the breakfast was really lacking. There was no hot food (bread/cereal/coffee only) and slow service to replace depleted items.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast included every morning. Street gets very loud during rush hour, but very close to Rue St Catherine for great dining and shops. No elevators but rooms are very nicely done.

I really like the front desk staff, they were very welcoming and helpful. I do not like how loud and inconsiderate the housekeeping staff were. We had a “do not disturb” sign on our door and one morning around 8:50am they knocked a few times despite the sign then came back about 10min later to knock again. The next morning we were woken up, again before 9am, by the housekeeping staff yelling and talking very loudly with one another. I even placed a towel under the front door but that didn’t seem to help at all. The overall room we stayed in was pretty rough looking with a few large millipedes that we had to kill. Our room was also downstairs/ on the first floor below the lobby which wasn’t too nice because we heard people upstairs running and stomping around. With all that said, my husband and I wouldn’t return to stay at this hotel.

Need to pay for valet parking or take your chances. In a location where parking is at a premium. Staircases need to be climbed to get into the building and to and from your room. Their design dates from a much earlier era. No elevator. Lovely dining room, service and food choices for the breakfast that was served. Comfortable, quiet room. So highly recommended as long as one is able and ready to deal with limitations.

Chateau Versailles is a charming old property. So much history, artistic touches throughout. That said, no elevator and stairs to enter the building. Our room had a fireplace, marble flooring, vaulted ceilings, etc. Beautiful. Linens are top notch, soap products were awesome, nice water pressure in bath, deeper than usual tub. Breakfast was continental. Good, but you may tire of it after a couple of days. (We did) and went to an amazing brunch diner 1 block away. Staff was friendly and spoke both French and English. We had a noon checkout - which was appreciated. Love the history of this hotel. It is located just a couple of blocks from the Fine Art Museum in Montreal, metro, bus stations, pharmacy, smaller restaurants, and underground shopping mega center. Property conditions were good...just could use a bit of touch up paint in some areas. Enjoy Montreal!

The front desk lady on May 12th day time was very snooty. The upgrade, if it was, was terrible. Upgrade to what? Rooms are very historic, which was nice. Don’t go to the 4th floor as there’s no elevator. Not easy on the knee’s. We won’t go back. The breakfast was wonderful. Honest 3 star would be a fair number. Would have got 4 star, but the front desk lady wasn’t pleasant at all. The front desk lady on May 10-11 was very pleasant.
