The Bask is the only hotel right in downtown Morehead with an apartment style feel and easy access to shopping and restaurants. Always clean with friendly staff.

While the portion of the hotel I stayed in was brand new, there were many things overlooked. 1. The bed was worse than substandard. It was THE hardest bed I’ve ever tried to sleep on. 2. Their idea of “breakfast” was a huge roll, 1 piece of overcooked bacon and a sliver of cheese. 3. The construction outside was not mentioned and is a major hassle. 4. During my two day stay there were never at any times any warm cookies. 5. Laundry facilities were unusable. 6. Room temp could not go below 70°. 7. Extremely loud upstairs neighbors. Despite our calls it continued and was bad daily until after midnight.

Booked and paid for 2 rooms with 2 queen beds. The beds were not queen sized, they were full at best. The room smelled like paint. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. There was construction going on around the building and the road was all torn up, you had to walk across this mess to get to the parking lot. Breakfast showed up to our room cold. Water was leaking around the mini fridge in one of the rooms. There were a few strands of long black hairs on the pillows. When I said something about the beds during check-out, person seemed confused and did not offer any assistance there. I was just glad to leave at this point. Received another 2 unexpected charges from them afterwards, who knows what they were for? I will not go back.

Property is in good area. Excellent location on the waterfront. Lot of restaurant choices and shopping. All in walking distance. This was our third stay at the Bask and the only time we’ve been disappointed with cleanliness. Having said that, they have a major construction project going on and I’m sure it’s very difficult to keep areas clean. We will be back!

The things we liked about Bask hotel: The location was great. We could walk to get food and there were lots of choices. The view from the balcony was beautiful. The bed was comfortable and the towels were nice and thick. The staff was very nice. There were cookies out in the afternoon for everyone to enjoy. Things we didn't like: Our first room had hair on the toilet and in the shower.The new room didn't cost as much but because we booked through someone else, we didn't get any money back. There is so much construction going on at the hotel that we didn't know about. The view from our balcony was fantastic but when we sat outside, all you can here is the construction. Our balcony door wouldn't lock. They said a team would be coming in to fix that in the future. Breakfast- every day they gave us a sheet of paper with the breakfast choices. I think there were four sections and you could pick one thing from each section. It was the same every single day. You could have a breakfast sandwich, cereal, different kinds of breads, a choice of drinks. You put what time you want it to be delivered to your room. They knock on the door and yell breakfast and they leave a brown box with your breakfast in it. The day we checked out, I had lemon bread and I took one bite and looked down. There was hair in my bread. We ended the same as we started. You are charged for parking and for use of the safe in your room. They take the safe off if you tell them you didn't use it.

Always a great spot. We stay here often. We love the location and roominess. Unfortunately, Our room was a little dirty this time and a loud noise coming from the wall made it very difficult to sleep. Overall, we thoroughly enjoy the Bask.

Accomodations were clean and within walking distance to restaurants, fishing pier, charter boats. Driving distance was close to many attractions along Emerald Hwy. Room service was a nice feature; however, breakfast was not as expected. We would have preferred a sitdown facility where we could serve ourselves vs picking from a limited few items on the checklist provided. In addition, laundry service was out of order.

Staff were friendly. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was good but could use a grab bar. Breakfast was delivered on time each day. Convenient location. Parking was limited. Construction on one street, along with construction of a restaurant across from our room was too much noise during the day to the point we had to leave; be sure to get a room on the other side until it is finished.
