“By far, the most unique place we've stayed. But we never felt we were sacrificing comfort. What else could you want? Big soft bed, HUGE bathroom, well-stocked kitchen with home made breakfast burritos in the freezer, and plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 dogs. We rented a sandboard and sled to visit the dunes and checked out Zapata falls on the way home. 10/10 amazing!”

We took advantage of all the amenities and it was such a treat to have such a comfortable place to stay near the dunes and Zapata Falls. We loved the quiet setting and the views. “Great stay at Hummingbird Hideaway! Gorgeous views, ample space, great accommodations. Be aware that it is very rural - approx 17 minutes just to get back to the highway, then another 30 minutes to the next town. Very quiet, great stargazing and wildlife. Highly recommend!”

We were looking for something out of the norm and with some character, the straw bale house fit the bill.We would have enjoyed having a comfortable area to grill and enjoy the outdoors and the view (such as a deck), other than that we very much enjoyed exploring the area and would return again .”

“The property is lovely and in a beautiful remote feeling location. The kitchen is well supplied and house was as described in the listing. It's very family friendly and has cute decor. We had a beautiful view of the stars when the sky was clear, though the mosquitoes did limit how much time we wanted to spend enjoying the outdoor features of the property. It's well located for family activities, we drove an hour and visited the sand dunes, Zapata Falls, and Colorado Gators all in the same……
