“Villas do Indico was everything I hoped: quiet, relaxed, good food, in a beautiful location. However, you should note that the hotel is 8km from town. I was happy to run/walk along deserted beaches most days to get to town/kite surfing. I then took a ride back. If you are taking rides both ways -- which are charged at around US$20 -- you will run up a substantial transport bill. You have to travel in a 4*4 as the last 3km are unpaved/sand. You can do this cheaper on the back of a motorbike but……

“The Katebe Gallery was an amazing place to stay. Right on the beach with a beautiful view of Maputo. The staff are top tier and very friendly and helpful. Only downside (if you could call it that) is that the area is very quiet with not much going on in the evening- and everything requires a taxi across the bridge ”

“We had a fantastic stay at Azura. We were warmly greeted straight from the get go by staff who were all smiling and gave clear instructions on what to expect for the week. The villa was exactly as described - clean, indoor/outdoor showers, plunge pool, and multiple sitting areas.
