“Staff service is good. I love the hot spring. Room is clean but only hot air so we ask for open window. There is no TV in the room so We often hear noise from upstairs. ”

“Read some negative comments from various hotels booking website, have struggled to book it or not, but there are not really many hotels / ryokans in Onomichi. Anyway, the reality is, starting from the check in till check out, we are very satisfied and amazed. We need to give it a fair comment to support the staff there. The hotel is just by the seaside, thus we enjoyed wide ocean view from our rooms. It is over 100 years history, surely it will look old, but it is full of retro and……

“My daughter and I traveled to Japan for two weeks and stayed here in the middle of a 70K Shimanami Bike trip. I wish so much we'd booked an additional night. Of the seven hotels/ryokans we stayed during our trip, this was heads above all the others. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious and the ryokan was quite peaceful. The staff was wonderful- helpful and attentive. If I'm ever lucky enough to return to Japan and visit this area again, I'll return to this lovely property.”

“This place is awesome. I wish we had stayed longer. We stopped here for the night because it is the half way point for the Shimanami Kaido bike route. The residence was an independent structure with a large window looking out to the sea and the bridge. Sunrise was gorgeous. The unit has a beautiful bathroom, very nice bedroom and new clean kitchen. Everything about the residence was top-notch, including the amenities. The breakfast and dinner that we chose were amazing. Loved this place.……

“Small room with a great view over the water between Onomichi and the neighboring island. Easy walk from the train station. This is a new building with one of those room switches that turns off all power when you take your room key out of the slot. This power shutoff includes all climate control and the fridge. Fridge is an odd wall unit that will literally hold 3 bottles of beer, it is about 3 inches deep. Everything was clean and comfortable, good for the day we spent in Onomichi before……
