“We enjoyed our stay at the apartment. It is conveniently located on a picturesque canal street within reasonable walking distance of attractions, shops, and dining. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. The apartment is all on one level, which was nice as well. Initially determining the location of the key box and the apartment door were a bit tricky, as the key box is up a short flight of stairs to the right of the actual apartment door, and there are 189, 189A, and 189B street……

“Checkin was great. Paul was to meet us, even after we got lost he waited for us. Gave us information about surounding area, The location is very good, easy walk to almost everywhere. Loved that it was in a traditional building, but the inside is a little tired. Some of the furniture could be updated ( both sofas ) the court yard needed some major cleaning, and maybe a fresh coat of paint and updated art inside would be nice. It was close to as pictured. We did love the size. When we come back,……

“We used this a our main base for touring the Netherlands. It was near Amsterdam, slept 7 easily, roomy enough for us all. It was tough to speak with anyone with the accomodation before we got there as to how each room was stocked. Lots of dishes and cutlery. Nice and close to Volendam to walk into town and stroll. If we go back would use again. ”

“Our stay at the Canal House was just what we had envisioned!! Perfectly located near everything that we wanted to see and do and the accommodations were perfect; quiet, clean, and comfortable!!Evert was a great host there if we needed anything but did not try to be part of our experience.The only challenging thing is the stairs to the 2nd floor apartment, alone they are fine with luggage it is a test of strength and balance, but the trip up is more than worth the effort.”

“Clean, wonderful hospitality, great shower, fantastic electric bikes for a trip to the beach and the dunes national park. 15 min walk to Haarlem station. Very generous provision of essential foods to get started. Els and Anneke were so helpful and even showed me the free parking a few minutes walk away where we left our car for the duration of our stay. Washing machine is hidden in the cupboard. Top recommenation for this lovely little place for 2 or just about 3. Loved it. ”
