“Overall a pleasant stay and the staff were very nice and helpful. On the down side our breakfast was cold. The service in the bar, it was not busy, was slow and/or not always maned. No brandy glasses were available for Brandy, it was served in a whiskey glass and on another occasion a port glass! No Sauvignon wine available. ”

“What a wonderful place. The room was large and spacious with a wonderful view of the river. Meals were flavourful and plenty. I genuinely say that the breakfast was the BEST I have had in all my years of business travel. ”

“Staff were great. But they were rather busy. Another person would have been a plus. Room was lovely. Breakfast hamper was generous. Loved having a fridge in the room. And having a balcony was well worth the extra money. ”

“Comfortable stay”

“Would have loved to have given a 5 star but it has to be 4 because the fire alarm went off at 5am and there was no one on site. It took half an hour for the manager to turn up and turn it off. And that was only because a neighbour knew who to call. They gave us a couple of free drinks the next evening but we had to ask. No apologies. The day staff didn't even know what had happened.”

“How you was welcomed into the building, very good. Table service, very good. A little disappointed about menu being short, not a lot of choice. Parking good. The Plough Inn very popular with locals. I would recommend to people who want to dine and stay the night or use as a base if toring.”
