“We stayed here two nights. We are Americans used to boring, run-of-the-mill hotels with no character and neutral staff who don’t like the guests. This was a lovely break from our norm. Everyone was super friendly, desirous to make our stay happy and give recommendations. The ceilings were super high in our room overlooking the bay, with a chandelier and lovely paint color. It felt like being in an early 1900’s great house. They have a gardener who comes to create gorgeous flowers and trees over……

“This is a nice hotel in a good location which is important in this area because most of the Galleries, restaurants and things to do are within a few blocks and that area is fairly safe but outside that area it's sketchy and a little dangerous. Many good restaurants in the area but you can see this whole safe neighborhood in one or two days. The staff is helpful but there is no elevator so if you have bad knees or back you're going to need to get the staff to bring your suitcases up some pretty……

“Fauna Hotel is located at mid-hill level of Valparaiso and visit to historic buildings can be done in foot. The hotel also lies in restricted area where large vans are forbidden to enter. Passengers and luggages have to be dropped off the main road and there is a distance of 10 min walk to move between the hotel and drop off location. “Casa Gerrari 406 is an eclectic small old hotel with mucho character and charm. And the price is extremely reasonable. Rooms are on the small side but everything works and the service from Marco and his staff make you feel like a guest and friend. Parking is street only, and the streets are narrow and steep, so plan accordingly. There are several small museums within short walking distance, and the old downtown, more museums, and walking tour guides are within longer walking distance. Marco……

“The view of the Bay/water front was beautiful. But if you were looking for the beach you need to go further up or down the coast. The hotel is clean, staff very friendly and the breakfast was more than just coffee & bread. You had fruit, egg, sausage, pastries and so much more to eat. This area was very walkable. As you walked the city the dining options were plentiful from Pizza to Chinese to local dining. Public transportation was easily found. The only disappointing aspect of the city was……

“The hotel was very good and the staff was wonderful as they were knowledgeable, understanding, and responsive to our needs. The breakfast was also good. The only negatives were that the TV never worked, the Internet was very poor at best, and the rooms were simply too small. The worst part was the toilet area which was so small one felt claustrophobic.”
