I found dead cockroaches in the room beside the cups and plates when I called service was excellent they change the room immediately at 12 pm since cough and beds were so itchy too but what chocked me the the guy at the reception said it’s normal to find dead cockroaches you are in Myrtle beach not sure what he meant by that but I being to too many hotels all over the world and for me that’s unacceptable and unsanitary

Four cockroaches in the room (one crawling up the bedroom wall, two in bathroom, another that came out in the bathroom in the middle of the night). I let the front desk know at check out (we stayed one night and would never stay again) and they let me know they would contact pest control. No remuneration offered, not even a partial refund. Cracked, fading or old paint on walls, frames, and doors. The beds are uncomfortable. The wall and framing on the Murphy bed is cracked and rusty. Furniture is old. The interior of property is definitely not as pictured. The indoor pool is a definite plus, as well as the included breakfast. Really appreciated the fitness room, which was clean and had working machines). The best aspect of our stay is the staff. Friendly and courteous, from the front desk, to the breakfast/ dining room, and also maintenance staff you might encounter.

Our room had a funny smell to it and I could tell it wasn’t cleaned good. We found a shirt that wasn’t ours right beside the night table. Not to mention the room wasn’t cleaned one time while we were there. I had to keep calling for fresh towels. I understand it was busier but still expected better service.

My stay at Monterey Bay was great. Lets start from check in to check out. Monterey suites is located in a quiet part of N Myrtle beach, the outside looks nice. Be mindful of the parking as it can be a tight twist and turn maneuvering the parking deck but take your time it can be a success. Once i arrived the check in line was long but the two young ladies smiled, got everyone checked in and on their way. As i watched they have a Wyndham time share guy sitting by the check in i noticed he gave a coupon book to the couple in front of me, when i walked by he told me i need to give him my license so he can compare my numbers with the coupon in the books! Sounds weird sir!!! He goes to type my info in and i told him do not sign me up for no timeshare. He knew i was on to him then he attempted to play it off and say oh i just wanted to make sure your coupon worked. Not one coupon in the book needed my ID. Just be mindful that he is making false timeshare set ups if you dont know better. The suite itself was clean, spacious enough for my family and I. Only downfall was the wall bed headboard was broken. Overall the staff was friendly, nice and the breakfast was a hit. Check out was a breeze.

This property has convenient parking and beach access. It is also in close proximity to shopping centers and the boardwalk. Kids friendly and pleasant staff. My only disappointment was that the lazy river was out of service, however, the kids enjoyed the pool.

We have stayed here multiple times and have had great room on different floors every time. The ocean front views are amazing. Unfortunately, both times during the spring break season, the pool has been either closed and being worked on, or not he did enough. Other than that, we enjoy our stay very much. 👍

Shower leaked the entire stay. It was reported and the front desk staff as soon as I checked in. The staff said they would address it but no one ever came. There as also water leaking onto the floor making it a safety hazard. Judging from the stain in the shower, it seems as though it has been leaking for a very long time. Additionally but not so important, the TV did not work and when I was able to get it working I was only able to watch the Disney channel. This was also reported to the front desk staff. Owners, please take ownership. I saw responses to many reviews but follow through is important. This was not an inexpensive place to stay.

The only real positive was the breathtaking view from the balcony. The view from room 833 did not disappoint. Other than that, we didn’t enjoy our stay and even left early. We were assigned an adjoining room, and the guests in the other room repeatedly tried to open the door to our side, banging and knocking. I wedged a chair to ensure they couldn’t get into our side. The hotel has a nonsmoking policy that is clearly not enforced. The loud music plus strong smell of cigarettes/marijuana from the same room next door triggered my son’s asthma. One of the biggest disappointments for my son was the heated indoor pools being closed despite the site confirming before I booked that they were open. Lastly, I expected the room to be in much better condition. The overall cleanliness of the room was terrible and not satisfactory by any means.The room was flat out dirty including the floors, furniture and bedding. The bathroom probably needs the most work. It was scary to take a shower. The bathtub was very unstable. It felt like it was going to cave in when taking a shower. I do not recommend this property.
