Me-Shell strikes the perfect balance between classic Old Nags Head style beach house and modern comfort. This 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath cottage sits on a large lot in a prime location - oceanfront and just across the street from Jockey's Ridge state park. So while you have neighbors to your north and south, there are actually no homes to the east or west of Me-Shell and the cottage boasts incredible views all day, from sunrise over the Atlantic to sunset over the state park!
This 1932 original Nags Head oceanfront cottage features classic Nags Head details such as wrap around porches and tongue and groove knotty pine paneling and it has been lovingly maintained and updated over the years. You will feel like you've stepped back in time while sitting on the porches surrounded by the dunes of Nags Head but step into the kitchen and you will find top of the line appliances. You can see, smell and hear the Atlantic ocean from this oceanfront cottage and you are just steps away from a fun-filled day at the beach. Rinse-off afterwards in the private outdoor shower before a relaxing family dinner on the deck. If you prefer to eat out or want to explore some of the incredible attractions the Outer Banks has to offer, there are tons of delicious local restaurants and family-friendly activities nearby. Just across the street is the famous Jockey's Ridge State Park and only a couple of miles up the road is Dowdy Park and the fabulous Dowdy Park Farmer's Market. The central location in Nags Head offers easy access to many local attractions: Roanoke Island, Hatteras Island, Oregon Inlet, the NC Aquarium, the Wright Brothers Monument, Corolla wild horses, etc. Come enjoy the classic Nags Head magic of Me-Shell and you will find yourself coming back year after year!
