I had a deeply concerning experience during my stay at Meritage Hotel from 2/14/25 to 2/16/25, and the matter remains unresolved.
During our stay, a hotel employee unlawfully entered our room while my partner and I were engaged in a private moment. This individual neither knocked nor announced their presence and, instead of immediately leaving, lingered and listened before fleeing when confronted. This was a severe violation of our privacy, and we immediately reported it to hotel security.
We were assured that an investigation would be conducted, including a review of key card access logs, but we received no follow-up. When we escalated the matter to the front desk manager, she acknowledged the mishandling of our complaint, apologized, and assured us we would receive compensation via a credit for our massages, as she claimed our booking through Expedia prevented a room refund. However, no such credit was ever applied.
What makes this experience even worse is that our itemized receipt shows we paid Meritage Hotel directly, further calling into question the excuses given. The complete lack of communication and failure to honor promises has left us feeling disregarded. I had initially trusted the staff to make things right, but that trust has been broken. This level of disregard for guest concerns is unacceptable, and I cannot recommend this hotel to others.
