“You should not stay here for more than 1 day. The first day was fine. But it was really bad on the 2nd day. This is a ryokan, but they kept the bedding in my room on the second day They should have resumed it back to living room and made the bed for me at my dinner time. The worst is the dinner on Day 2. “Excellent stay here! Specially the service from two gentlemen at front desk, they were being helpful and tried to book cab for us (finding cab is headache in Kyoto!), Also they were able to speak English! The hotel is clean generally, you get a free little complimentary snack box daily if you chose no house keeping service during your stay. Very convenient location from hotel to Gion Shijo where u get all the shopping & food and also easy to walk to Kiyomizu-Dera temple (10 mins walk)! Lovely……

“Stayed 1 night at Nara Ryokan. Generally we had a good time but there were a few issues that took away from the experience slightly (hence 4 stars instead of 5). Pros were: - Private onsen was really lovely after a long day of walking - Room itself was quite spacious and 'felt' like a real Ryokan (although it's more of an approximation of a Ryokan than a real one) - Beds were large and mattresses relatively comfortable Cons: - Maybe this is a normal feature of a Ryokan, but there were no……

“It is an old-fashioned Japanese style hotel. The staff were very nice and the room was spacious for 4 tatami beds. The breakfast was Japanese style. It was delicious and unlike the buffet style, it was a set prepared for each of us. So it was hot and delicious. Each night when we returned to hotel, the staff had already prepared hot water for us so that we can have tea in our room. And there was a little hot spring and the basement of the hotel. We had a great time there.”

“Lovely bed-and-breakfast inn, with owner staying at one of the units. Convenient location from the main shopping & restaurant area, and also walkable to subway. Hard to hail taxi outside of the hotel when we need to go to the airport. So the hotel calls taxi for us. We waited for about 10 min before the taxi came, which is ok.
