## Emplacement Capital of Narbonnaise Gaul, residence of the Visigoth kings and archiepiscopal city, Narbonne is a 2,500-year-old City of Art and History with a rich heritage. In the heart of the historic center, two listed buildings are a must: the Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur cathedral and the Archbishops' palace. Afterwards, there's nothing like a coffee break on one of the terraces of the lively Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, before continuing your journey towards the Canal de la Robine and its charming Promenade des Barques, where you can enjoy a ride on an electric boat. When it comes to museums, Narbonne is also well endowed, with its archaeological museum housing a remarkable exhibition of Roman paintings, its Art and History museum rich in fine and decorative arts collections, its lapidary museum housed in the former Notre-Dame de Lamourguier church, and Charles Trenet's birthplace, now entirely dedicated to the famous Fou chantant. And there's plenty of fun to be had every year at the end of August with the Trenet festival, which celebrates French chanson through concerts, shows, bodegas and street arts!
