We’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and Sandals Royal Bahamian was a mixed experience. The included airport transportation was convenient and stress-free. Upon arrival, we checked in early and were encouraged to explore the grounds while waiting for our room, which was nice.
However, the beach lounger situation was extremely frustrating. We were told loungers were "first come, first serve," but when we woke up at 6 AM to reserve one, they were already taken. We later discovered the “butler elite” guests had their butlers place old books down the night before, later replacing them with coolers. Despite complaining to concierge, nothing changed. This felt incredibly unfair and unlike any other resort we’ve visited.
As for the food, the food trucks were good, and I enjoyed the chicken pesto panini at Calico and the eggs Benedict at the French restaurant. The French fries were consistently good, but most of the food was dry and underwhelming.
The beach itself was also smaller than expected, so don’t let the photos fool you. While the staff was friendly, the overall experience did not match the luxury Sandals brand we were promised. For the price, we expected much more, especially in terms of fairness and food quality.
