We chose the hotel for its location and reasonable (for Manhattan) price. The common areas were a tight fit, especially from the elevator area to the dining area. We've visited NYC before, and knew to expect this, though.
The handicap accessibility of their ADA rooms needs to be revisited. The photo below shows the roll-in shower. Had my wife been traveling alone, she wouldn't have been able to operate the shower from the bench seat. She can't walk, and the controls are not within arm's reach.
Also, the closet and the thermostat are absolutely inaccessible to someone in a wheelchair. I don't imagine anything can be done about the closet, given the space constraints of the building. But a remote thermostat placed on a wall where a handicapped person could reach it should be doable.
The hotel was clean, and the desk and housekeeping staff were professional and friendly. The breakfast fare could have been better by simply adding more fresh fruit for those of us who are vegans.
Despite these issues, we'll keep this hotel in mind for our next visit to Manhattan.
