Just returned from a 2-night stay at Hotel St James and had a great experience.
This is an older hotel with a lot of character and charm. However, if you’re looking for a lot of bells and whistles, this might not be for you.
Our room with 2 full beds was neat and spacious (not huge but not cramped), with good closet space; the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and the beds were comfortable and with crisp, clean bedding.
It is an older building and the water pressure wasn’t great but that wasn’t a deal breaker, if I had to make a suggestion, I would recommend that they replace the shower heads with something that offers a wider spray as the current one is very small.
Our room was at the front of the building so it was a little noisy at night, but it’s NYC, so it’s to be expected.
There aren’t a lot of extras (no coffee maker in the room and no restaurant/room service onsite), but the price is very reasonable for Time Square, you can’t beat the location; easy access to the Broadway shows and subway stations.
The real star of the show was Joey on the front desk, he definitely lived up to his reputation! He was friendly and welcoming, and so helpful.
If you’re looking for a budget friendly stay in NYC, Hotel St James is definitely a great choice. I will definitely be back. 👍
