The hotel is beautiful and the rooftop is undeniably cool, but don’t expect any VIP treatment—even if you’re a hotel guest. Drinks are seriously overpriced (my boyfriend paid $36 USD for a non-alcoholic drink just because it had Red Bull in it). The staff wasn’t particularly courteous either; when we asked for help with our luggage upon check-out, we were told it’s a “self-serve” hotel.
Basic essentials were lacking—no body lotion, bathrobes, or slippers. The person at front desk told me that I could go buy them at the Whole Foods next door… for a $500 USD a night you would expect the BASICS. We repeatedly asked for extra towels and never received them, leaving us stuck with cold, damp ones. While the hotel has a fun, party vibe on weekends, it also attracted some sketchy locals wandering around the property. There was zero visible security, and at times, I felt unsafe.
We booked this hotel hoping for a similar experience to the Edition in Miami, but this fell short. It’s definitely a young, buzzing scene, but the quality doesn’t justify the high price point. Even a three-star hotel offers body lotion!!
