The location and front desk staff were great. Unfortunately, I was given a room in the basement (listed as a “cozy” room). It smelled like French fries and mold, the floor was always a little slimy, and it was dark and sad. The walls were thin, too—I could hear them open a can of soda in the next room, among other things.
If they clearly labeled the rooms “garden level,” had dehumidifiers in them, charged far less, and had floor coverings, it would have been fine. As it was, a hostel would have been far nicer and a fraction of the price.
That said, the aboveground rooms seemed nice, and if a person could be sure they had one of those, it might be a very nice hotel.
